I have a 90 NA 2+0. It's running on all 6 cylinders. I was driving home from Maryland when at a red light my idle just went from ~650 to about 1000 rpm. Then it went to about 1200 rpm in the next second. I checked all the gauges and saw that my temperature gauge was about 5/8 the way high. I immediately pulled over and turned the car off. I saw no white smoke out of engine or out of the exhaust. (I wasn't paying much attention to the exhaust.) I checked coolant in radiator and it was full. I then checked the oil and it wasn't "milky." Has this ever happened to anyone else? What could it possible be? I couldn't see if it was leaking coolant anywhere but I didn't see any puddles of liquid on the road so if it is it isn't that bad. Thank you for the advice and time.
